“Conversations with God”

wpid-20130804_121824.jpgToday I recieved my copy of Naele Donald Walsch´s well recommended “Conversations with God”. A number of sites – “Buddhist Boot Camp” I remember – has it as a recommended book to read for it´s filiosophical and open uncomplicated nature (though there are some very complicated reasoning in this first chapter that I have read so far).

I want to share with you the parts and sentences that I underlined during the reading and that cought my interrest.

  • “The best prayer is never a pray to recieve somtething but a prayer of gratitude”
  • “…what you know is what is shown as your reality”
  • “you are given the choice to do what you want with your life”
  • “Every human thought and act comes from either a feeling of love or fear. There is no other human motivation…”
  • “There is no other meaning of life, which apply to you and all other living, and that is to experience complete bliss”
  • “Therefore, don´t try to find who you are, try instead to define who you want to be”
  • “…you can not experience yourself who you are before you know who you´re NOT”
  • “Don´t judge the karma path someone takes.. Don´t envy success, and don´t pity missfortune as you do not know what is success or failure in the soul’s final bill”
  • “Every circumstance is a gift and every experience is a hidden treasure”
  • “And remember that your biggest trial may be your biggest triumph”
  • “It is much easier to change what you do yourself than to change what somone else does”
  • “As long as you nourish the thought that there is something/somebody out-there “doing” things towards you, you deprive yourself the power of doing something about it”
  • “The way to diminish the the pain you attach to worldly experiences and events – you own and others – is to change the way you look at them”
  • “Something is only right or wrong because you say it is so. There is nothing right or wrong in it self”
  • “Feeling is the force that attracts. What you feel great fear of, that you will experience”

Today I am in my third week of a yogaprogram running over twelve weeks. Every morning I step up somewhat earlier in the morning to listen to Sara E guiding me through a short yoga-pass. Ten to fifteen minutes. Beginning with deep breathing, sufi.circles, respiratory anchor, babypose and ending with a bodyscanning. I find it really rewarding, doing it on a daily basis. It has been my goal to achieve that. As a daily routine. Everyday giving myself the good practise of yoga, meditation, breathing. I´ve had it as a goal but failed as I thought I had to do very long passes  every day. It is achievable when not having that as a must and finding a way through these short everyday passes. And I can already feel the difference it brings to me. I feel lighter. More focused. Less stressed in situations of stressy nature. In meeting of certain people that can make me unsecure, stressed I feel a difference in how I meet them. How I listen. How I look at them. I try to be, and I succeed in, beeing here and, now focused on the very moment that is happening here and now with me and others.
I am reading the book of Don Miguel Ruiz – “The four agreements” – and it helps me getting my mind in focus, and aware while the doing is happening. I can more control my behavior in the present and that is a great and sensational experience. To be able to direct my self in the step. In the making. Talking. It is really magic to realize that it is possible to change the manner in which I act and react. Thanks to meditation, yoga, walking long distances, meeting different people with all the different experiences and backgrounds, lerning techniques to control my breath, control my body, control my mind, control my thoughts makes a big difference in the everyday life.
Tomorrow evening I will also have my, so longed after hatha-yoga pass with my regular group.

It’s christmas again

I wish all my friends and readers a blissful, brilliant christmas. Be kind to yourself and to everyone in your vicinity. Think nice and warm thoughts. Spread hope, love and forgiveness. Take time to sit without any other aim than to be free, reflect, let your thoughts come and go like clouds on a summer sky. Why not read that book/see the film you were recommended. Take a walk and enjoy the weather if it’s sunny, rain, cold, snow or what. Enjoy your health as it is. Do things that’s good for you. Remember, you are the expert of your own life, the one life we are given (as far as we know). A site I want to share is Timber Hawkeye’s Buddhist Boot Camp, great short chapters with ” something inspirational that people today would not only have the attention span to read all the way through”. I will conclude this post with Be Greatful! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, blissful holydays.

Why do most people choose to read the same popular books, films, TV serials?
I have a theory (after reading Konsekvenser (Impacts) by Björn Runge.

Is it because most people don’t want to be regarded as less knowing? The importance of recognition is very important to most people.

What do you think? Is there another answer. Another theory?

Yesterday I listened to an interview with Alain Mabanckou, he said: “I think that sometimes you can talk about politics though the eyes of the kids, of the children. It´s said in the Bible that the truth comes from the kids, not from the adult, because we are corrupted, we did everything, war, starvation, jealousy, fighting here and there. But the kid can like give the real definition of life. And then, I thought, inside me , that if I want to explain the world I would like go back to the time when I was a kid.” on his book “Tomorrow I will be twenty”. A real inspiration and an example of what I need in my back as energy. Inspirational people talking and writing of important issues and how they think in their process of writing. In this post I want to share what I have found important to me to be able to write and express myself through the words. First I need solitude. I often begin my day with a walk when I let my mind spin off without any borders or restrictions. I try not to judge or censor what comes up. Next I need a place, with a nice view, comfortable, and with as little of disturbing things as possible. I need time. This goes unsaid but I need to say anyway it because it is one of my big shortcommings, at least it used to be. Now I have an agreement with myself o sit down and write from ten to three. That gives me five hours when I also have a small lunch and small brakes here and there. I do not answer the phone and never look in my mail box unless I know I will have a mail from some of my writing friends with whom I am involved in a writing project.

Then it´s time to write and I am happy to see that now – after more than three months – I have collected lots of written material and I am confident that I will be able to build something out of this. How and in what way it will be will show on the way. As I learnt on my caminowalks – the road becomes as you walk – I can not foresee everything, I can not have solutions to things/problems I haven´t a clue will come -. but I know they will come and I have a positive attitude that I will find what I need dureing the walk.

Now I will try find one of Alain´s books and learn from him. The comming weekend I will go for a threeday writing course in a wonderful spot not far from my home.

Take care and I will soon be back

Please feel free to share some of your experiences from writing. What´s helping you? What´s inspiring you?
